From the same family of ferns as the Jester's Crown, this Boston fern is a smaller variety, usually growing up to 1 ft. Adaptable and compact, it is used in outdoor flowerbeds and indoor arrangements alike. Growing is similar to the Jester's Crown Fern, requiring indirect sunlight and moisture.
Plant Care tips
- Lighting: This plant prefers medium indirect sunlight but can survive in low light situations.
- Temperature: Ideally, it should be in the temperature range of 65° F to 80° F at all times.
- Fertilizing: Feed your plant once or twice a year in the spring and summer with a basic houseplant food at half the recommended strength.
- Watering: Water the plant thoroughly and allow the top 75% of the soil to dry before watering again. Allow the soil to dry completely before watering if the plant is placed in low light. Regularly mist or shower the leaves to prevent them from drying out. Water your plant less in the winter, when light levels are lower and growth has slowed. Overwatering will cause leaves to turn yellow and fall off.
